Duchess is the traditional headboard in the range — deep diamond buttoning across the full face, framed by tall winged sides. It’s the shape most people picture when they think “statement headboard,” built with the detailing that separates the real thing from an imitation.

Deep Diamond Buttoning

The full front panel is hand-buttoned in a dense diamond grid, each button pulled taut enough to hold a crisp, even fold across every row. It’s a slower, more labour-intensive build than a flat or channelled front, and it’s the detail that gives Duchess its weight and presence.

Winged Sides, Nailhead Trim

Tall wings return the sides of the headboard toward the wall, framing the sleeper rather than just sitting flat against it. A continuous line of nailhead trim runs down each wing’s outer edge, a traditional finishing detail picked out in a soft silver tone against the fabric.

Every Duchess headboard is hand-upholstered over a solid frame in premium velvet. It ships as pictured in Silver Grey, and is also made to order in Taupe, Charcoal, Deep Emerald, Terracotta, Navy, and Ivory.

Living With Duchess

Duchess is made to order in Double, Queen, and King, sized to fit standard South African bed bases — confirm exact base width with us before ordering if you’re matching an existing frame. Vacuum the velvet and buttoning regularly with a soft brush attachment, working into the folds where dust collects, blot spills immediately rather than rubbing, and keep the headboard out of direct, harsh sunlight to protect the colour over time.
