These Terms and Conditions are a draft prepared for Itae Furniture and must be reviewed by a legal professional before being relied upon. They are written to satisfy South African consumer protection requirements and Google Merchant Center policy, but they are not legal advice.
1. About us

2. Orders and acceptance
Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract of sale only comes into effect once we confirm your order in writing and payment has cleared. We may decline an order where an item is unavailable, where a price or description has been listed in error, or where payment cannot be verified.
3. Prices and payment
All prices are shown in South African Rand and include VAT where applicable. Delivery is charged separately and is calculated at checkout based on your delivery area. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Prices may change without notice, but a change will never affect an order we have already confirmed.
4. Handcrafted goods and natural variation
Our furniture is made by hand in South Africa from solid wood and upholstery materials. Grain, colour and finish vary naturally between pieces, and photographs on this site are a guide rather than an exact match. This variation is a characteristic of handcrafted furniture and is not a defect.
5. Lead times and delivery
Made-to-order pieces carry a lead time that we confirm with you at the time of order. We will keep you informed if a lead time changes. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Please inspect your delivery on arrival and record any visible damage before signing.
6. Returns, cancellations and refunds
Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 are not limited by these terms. Our full returns process, including the cooling-off period, the condition goods must be returned in, and how refunds are paid, is set out on our Returns and Exchanges page, which forms part of these terms. Made-to-order and custom-built items are produced to your specification and cannot be returned simply because you have changed your mind, but they remain covered for defects.
7. Warranty
Our workmanship warranty and what it covers is set out on our Warranty page. This is in addition to the implied warranty of quality you are given by the Consumer Protection Act.
8. Your personal information
We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect, why, and how to exercise your rights.
9. Intellectual property
All content on this site, including product photography, product names, descriptions and the Itae Furniture name and logo, belongs to us and may not be reproduced commercially without our written permission.
10. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability under the Consumer Protection Act for defective goods. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this website or our products.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. If something goes wrong, please contact us first at sales@itaefurniture.co.za so we can try to resolve it. You retain the right to refer a dispute to the National Consumer Commission or a recognised consumer tribunal.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
